Joseph Messana-Croly
Urban Planner & Program Manager
As former Program Manager at Van Alen, Joseph created community-led design, placemaking, and economic development programs. From 2024–26, Joseph created and implemented Design Sprints: Building Creative Capacity and District Design Fellowship. He also led 10 projects across two cohorts of the Design Sprints program.
Joseph earned his Master of Urban Planning from the University of Washington and a B.A. in Urban Studies from the University of Rochester. He’s experienced in working alongside historically underrepresented communities toward design and engagement projects.
