Thank you to everyone who came out for our third annual Van Alen Block Party on Saturday! Despite a downpour the day before, hundreds of friends and neighbors joined us in celebration.

Gowanus is experiencing huge changes right now, so it’s more important than ever to connect with neighbors and get to know the folks who make up this neighborhood right here, right now.
We’re immensely grateful to our generous supporters, performers, vendors, collaborators, and our local representatives who joined us at the party, including State Senator Andrew Gounardes, City Council Member Lincoln Restler, and Brooklyn CB6’s Mike Racioppo. It was wonderful to see so many folks in Van Alen’s family, including many of our dedicated Board members like May Lee, Carla Swickerath, Hana Kassem, Michael Bednark, and Katie Swenson. You all helped transform our Brooklyn block into a spectacular community event.
