Milk Crate Furniture System

About

The Washington Heights working group suggested using milk crates to activate the neighborhood’s busy Broadway median. These milk crates with a dolly base can be used to create fun, lightweight, weatherproof furniture that can be nested together to decrease storage space. This open space activation allows for social distancing and is flexible to fit different street needs. By using milk crates and plywood for seating, this is an affordable tool that can be implemented throughout the city during the warmer months.
