Sanjukta Sen, ASLA, is a landscape and architectural designer at Field Operations. She is currently leading the design and project team for Hudson River Park’s Gansevoort Peninsula in Manhattan. Sanjukta is also leading the design and construction of Greenpoint Landing and River Street, both of which are in Brooklyn, New York. Previously, Sanjukta was the project manager and lead designer for Domino Park in Brooklyn, Riverfront Park in Newark, and Central Green at the Navy Yards in Philadelphia. She was a designer for the Cornell Tech Campus Master Plan in New York, and The Underline Master Plan in Miami.
Prior to joining Field Operations, Sanjukta practiced as an architect with S. Ghosh & Associates in New Delhi, working on several large-scale development projects, including the 2,000-acre JSPL Township in Orissa, which involved designing resettlement colonies for displaced people. She has also been involved with numerous institutional and commercial projects, such as the India International Centre expansion in New Delhi, a campus for the National Centre for Biological Sciences in Bangalore, the Jindal corporate headquarters in Orissa, and a new international airport in Lucknow, India.
Sanjukta has taught graduate design studios in the Landscape Architecture department at the University of Pennsylvania and has also lectured and been a guest critic at the University of Virginia. She was one of the 2018–19 LAF Fellows for Innovation and Leadership, allowing her to pursue her research interests examining the role landscape architecture and open space can play in forefronting resilience in urban waterfronts. She earned her Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi, India. She is fluent in Hindi, Bengali, and English.
