Jason R.A. Foster

Jason R.A. Foster is an award-winning filmmaker from Kingston, Jamaica, now based in New Jersey, with deep roots in the American South. In 2011, he co-founded FosterBear Films in New Orleans, producing over 30 documentaries, narrative shorts, and music videos featured in outlets like the New York Times, Shadow and Act, and Indiewire. Jason has received multiple grants for documenting Louisiana artists. His debut feature, Many Fires This Time: We the 100 Million, won multiple awards in 2020. His short In Search Of…Pregame earned a Special Jury Recognition Award (New Orleans Film Fest) in 2022. He is an MFA (Film) graduate school candidate at the Vermont College of Fine Arts.
