Museums as Shared Spaces and Imagining New Possibilities
Tuesday, October 21, 6:30–8:30 pm (doors 6 pm)
303 Bond Street, Brooklyn
What happens to museums when their most contested objects are returned? Join us as we host the Consulate General of Switzerland in New York and Mariam Issoufou Architects to explore this question. This event brings together voices from architecture and academia to discuss how museums can transform in the wake of restitution and reimagine their roles as inclusive civic spaces. The discussion will be framed by short films from Mariam Issoufou’s ETH Zurich studio, created by her students to spark reflection on the museum’s future in the context of restitution. Their participation is supported by ETH Zurich.
