Van Alen is creating more equitable cities by sharing the tools and resources that make it easier for residents to shape the places where they live. As a supporter, you help shift the power balance in city-making by putting communities at the heart of an inclusive design process. 

Public Realm Patron: $25,000+

Supporters at this level will receive:

  • Private tour of the National Mall in Washington DC with Van Alen Executive Director exploring Van Alen’s new initiative, Beyond Granite, that will elevate underrepresented narratives through a series of new commemorative works
  • Special access walking tours with Neighborhoods Now partners, exploring community-based pandemic recovery efforts across New York City    
  • Invitations to special access walking tours with Neighborhoods Now partners, exploring community-based recovery efforts across New York City
  • Exclusive fabrication studio visit for the Flatiron Public Plaza Holiday Installation with designers and program partners
  • Verbal recognition at the Installation’s public launch in Flatiron Plaza and an invitation to an intimate cocktail reception to follow in November 2022
  • Special invitations to other Van Alen programs and engagements, including quarterly closed-door program briefings with Van Alen Executive Director, invited speakers, and other special guests 
  • Co-host recognition at Van Alen’s annual 303 Bond Street Bash in May 2022 and lead on-site recognition at the Van Alen Block Party in October 2022, as well as prominent placement in all corresponding digital communications

Your support could help to promote social cohesion, elevate untold narratives, and empower BIPOC designers through Public Realm R&D, a program bringing full-scale installations to prominent urban spaces in Downtown Brooklyn, Flatiron Plaza, and Washington DC.

Design Justice Champion: $10,000+

Supporters at this level will receive:

  • Special access walking tours with Neighborhoods Now partners, exploring community-based pandemic recovery efforts across New York City

Your support could encourage community members to advocate for positive change in Gowanus, through micro-grants to the Neighborhood Design Fellows to fund resident-led projects focused on neighborhood-based improvements.

  • On-site recognition at the Superhero level at Van Alen’s annual 303 Bond Street Bash in May 2022 and the Van Alen Block Party in October 2022, as well as prominent placement in all corresponding digital communications
  • Recognition at the Champion level in Van Alen’s 2022 Annual Report

Your support could help small businesses with pandemic recovery across 7 hard-hit communities, connecting them with the critical resources and interdisciplinary talent needed to strengthen their local economies, health, and public space through Neighborhoods Now

Ground-Up Advocate: $2,500+

Supporters at this level will receive:

  • Special invitations to Van Alen programs and engagements throughout the year
  • On-site recognition at the Advocate level at Van Alen’s annual 303 Bond Street Bash in May 2022 and the Van Alen Block Party in October 2022, as well as prominent placement in all corresponding digital communications
  • Recognition at the Advocate level in Van Alen’s 2022 Annual Report 
  • Year-round recognition on Van Alen’s website

Your support could promote the creation of social infrastructure through a community-led transformation of a derelict, city-owned public alley into a vibrant neighborhood asset for the Lucid Project.
