Sarah Haun joined Van Alen in late 2017 as director of marketing and communications. She works collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and project partners to plan and implement strategic media relations, communications, and other outreach efforts that support the mission, vision, and activities of Van Alen Institute. She has a background in communications and marketing in the design industry, most recently serving as Marketing Director at Brightspot Strategy, an experience design consultancy. Previously, she led business development, marketing, and corporate communications for Two Twelve, Pentagram, and other creative service firms.
Sarah has also worked in education as marketing director for the independent Rodeph Sholom School in Manhattan, as an industry evaluator for FIT’s graphic design program, and as a guest lecturer at NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies. She has served on the boards of the AIGA New York Chapter and Worldstudio Foundation in the past, and currently, she is a member of the Marketing and Media Committee at Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum. She earned her B.A. from Yale College and M.S. in Communications Management from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
