Carolina Bueno

Partner, Triptyque

Carolina Bueno is a partner at Triptyque Architecture based in São Paulo and Paris. Since 2000, Triptyque Architecture has explored the tools serving the contemporary and sustainable world. The agency, created by Bueno along with partners Grégory Bousquet, Guillaume Sibaud, and Olivier Raffaëlli, celebrates their 17th anniversary this year.

Simultaneously in Brazil, a country full of energy that has been calling worldwide attention, and in the Old Continent, the birthplace of several principles of contemporary culture, Triptyque benefits from the cultures of Paris and São Paulo. Triptyque conceives a type of architecture that integrates with its surroundings in both a cultural and poetical sense, engaging with art, sociology and semantics. From this mixture arises enlivened works of architecture that change over time, transforming themselves, reacting to the surroundings and interacting with those who experience them.

Initially based in São Paulo, the agency has been confronted with an urban landscape forever in evolution, and finds it a real stimulus for creativity. Thanks to this inspiration, Triptyque realized Harmonia_57, Fidalga_727 and Colombia_325 which solidified its reputation. In 2008, the agency opened a subsidiary in Paris. At the same time, the Ministry of Culture awarded Triptyque with the prize of the Young Architects New Albums (NAJA). Then, Triptyque exported its expertise to Courbevoie to build the headquarters of the INPI, in Osny, and also to the construction of a Multi Media Library that will be delivered during 2015.

Triptyque was invited to create installations that are exhibited at the Hong Kong/Shenzhen biennial in 2009, the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the London Festival of Architecture, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London in 2010; and for the permanent collection of the Centre Pompidou in Paris since January 2014.

In 2017, Triptyque, more than ever, creates architecture on both continents
