Alexander Rieck is a founder and director of the international architecture firm LAVA – Laboratory for Visionary Architecture. LAVA was founded in 2007 by Alexander Rieck, Tobias Walliser, and Chris Bosse and has over 60 employees with locations in Stuttgart, Berlin, Sydney and branches in Dubai, Riyadh and Shanghai.
Since 1997, Alexander Rick has been a scientist at the Fraunhofer Institution in Stuttgart. His research focus is on the work of the future, construction of the future and the city of the future. LAVA’s close and personal networking with research and teaching allows the laboratory to work at the interfaces between current processes and future solutions. Working with new digital tools, support of continuous manufacturing processes, integration of new materials, sustainable design and user-oriented approach describe the design focus of the laboratory.
