As part of Open House New York Weekend, join us for special access to our joint program hub and workspace designed by Collective–LOK, a collaboration of Jon Lott (PARA-Project), William O’Brien Jr. (WOJR), and Michael Kubo (over, under).
The winning entry of the 2013 Ground/Work competition, the project’s concept is a highly flexible space utilizing a subtle interplay of surfaces and screens to allow for our diverse programming, from multimedia exhibitions and lectures to workshops and private meetings. Since its opening in 2014, the multipurpose space has allowed the Institute to engage more directly with the surrounding city.
Architect Jon Lott will offer tours of the space from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The space is open for drop-in visits from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Open House New York is an annual weekend-long event during which various buildings and landmarks provide access to the public offering a unique experience of normally restricted parts of the city.
This site is presented as part of the AIANY series, New Practices New York, highlighting emerging practices to explore how a new generation of designers is transforming the city. Click here to read more and see the full list of participating sites.
