A unique space to read and research recent publications on architecture is now open.

Featuring a cross-section of seminal books, journals, magazines, daily and weekly newspapers, pamphlets, and more, our Reading Room provides a much-needed space for research beyond the academy. As part of our multi-phased Design Archive launch, a selection of archival materials
are also available.

As a part of our Reading Room series, monthly lectures and events present contemporary authors, critics, and journalists in dialogue on the topic of contemporary architectural publications.

The Reading Room library is open to the public Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm. If you would like to view additional archival materials, please request an appointment in advance by emailing us at vai@vanalen.org.
