In the years since tkts2k – Van Alen Institute’s public design competition in 1999 for a new TKTS booth in Times Square – the first-prize winning team Choi Ropiha of Sydney, Australia has worked with the New York City firms Perkins Eastman and Dewhurst MacFarlane to make their proposal a reality.

In advance of the public opening next week, Times Square Alliance and Van Alen Institute are offering the design community a sneak preview of the brand new TKTS booth and adjacent Duffy Square. Brief remarks will be made at 6:30pm by John Choi and Tai Ropiha (Conceptual Designers, Choi Ropiha), Nick Leahy (Design Architect, Perkins Eastman), Michael Ludvik (Project Engineer, Dewhurst MacFarlane), and Adi Shamir (Executive Director, Van Alen Institute).
