Interns and volunteers are central to the success of Van Alen Institute's programs and operations. Program-specific opportunities are posted as they arise, however we welcome applications year-round from students or recent graduates who are familiar with the Institute's mission and interested in working with the VAI team. Responsibilities range from office and gallery administration to research, writing and project installation—applicants should be flexible and eager to take on a broad range of tasks in a collaborative work environment.
Van Alen Institute's internship program offers the opportunity to gain work experience and design knowledge at one of New York's leading cultural organizations, and provides direct exposure to some of the most exciting research and innovation related to design in the public realm.
If you are interested in being considered for a Fall 2008 internship at Van Alen Institute, please email a resume, cover letter and writing sample to vai@vanalen.org with "Internship" in the subject line. Please note any special technical or digital skills you may have.
