Dirk Hebel and Jörg Stollmann are co-founders and principals of INSTANT Architects (www.instant-arch.net), founded in 2002 in Zürich, Switzerland. INSTANT foregrounds the body as a biological and social construct in order to develop research projects and architectural practice on various scales. Projects include the inflatable installation ON_AIR at KunstWerke Berlin, the traveling exhibition INVENTIONEERING_ARCHITECTURE, small scale residential projects like HAUS_BLICK in Düsseldorf, the award winning scheme UNITED_BOTTLE, and the publication Bathroom Unplugged: Architecture and Intimacy. Hebel studied at the ETH Zurich and received his M. Arch from Princeton University. Stollmann studied at the UdK Berlin and received his M. Arch from Princeton University. They worked for various offices in New York, Paris and Berlin and have held teaching positions at the UdK Berlin, the TU Berlin, the American University of Sharjah, Syracuse University, and Princeton University, as well as the ETH Zurich.
